Abstract. Three neonicotinid insecticides: Apacz 50
WG, Confidor 200 SL and Mospilan 20 SP were used to control acorn pests
Curculio spp. (Curculionidae: Coleoptera) and Cydia spp. (Tortricidae:
Lepidoptera) in the oak (Quercus robur) seed orchard in the Leżajsk
Forest District (South-Eastern Poland). The best effect was observed on
the plot treated with insecticide Apacz 50 WG, where only 3% of acorns
were damaged by Curculio spp. larvae. The percentage of damaged acorns
was significantly higher on plots treated with Confidor 200 SL and
Mospilan 20 SP – 30% and 35%, respectively. The level of acorn
infestation by Cydia spp. larvae was less than 2% of seeds on all
analyzed plots.
