Abstract. Biometric parameters of Scots pine
seedlings and nitrogen content in needles were investigated. The
seedlings were inoculated in laboratory with an ectomycorrhizal fungus
Thelephora terrestis and were grown in four different substrata
treatments: S – nursery substratum, P – post-agricultural soil, SW –
nursery substratum enriched by nitrogen, PW – post-agricultural soil
enriched by nitrogen. After six months it was found, that seedlings
from treatments with lower N content possessed higher values of
parameters as well as the higher number of mycorrhizae. Irrespective of
the type of substratum – nursery or agriculture one, the higher content
of nitrogen was the cause of a much smaller proportion of fine
roots.
Key words: substrata, nitrogen, Thelephora
terrestris, Scots pine seedlings.
