Abstract. The paper provides a detailed description of the process of multiphase extraction of European larch seeds. During three desiccation phases, cones were twice subject to sprinkling with water and shaking seeds out. Alternating desiccation, sprinkling and shaking resulted in gaining large quantities of seeds up to 88% of all the seeds in the cones while the seeds remaining in the cones were in 99% empty. The greatest number of seeds was obtained in the second phase – 64% of all the extracted seeds. The content of water in the cones at their opening and extracting the seeds amounted on average to 0.074 kgH2O/kgDW. Mathematical equations were used for the description of the individual phases of the process (changes in water content and desiccation rate), which allowed for the detailed profile of the extraction process of the studied larch cones.
